No limits!
We are thrilled to offer No Limits!, a unique and inclusive breaking workshop led by Tommy Molitor a k a Bboy Invalido.
Tommy is an experienced breaker and choreographer who is passionate about making dance accessible to everyone. This workshop is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, creating a fun, safe, and inspiring environment where everyone can explore their creativity and joy of movement.
Tommy will work with each participant individually to bring out their unique strengths and expression. Through personalised exercises and techniques, he will help participants discover and develop their own dance style, regardless of physical or intellectual abilities.
What to Expect:
-
Welcome and Introduction
The workshop begins with a brief introduction, where Tommy will share his background and present the contents of the session. He will also touch on the origins and history of breaking. Participants will have a chance to introduce themselves and share what they hope to get out of the experience.
-
Tailored Warm-Up
A warm-up adapted to each participant's abilities and needs. The focus is on gentle and accessible movements to prepare the body for dancing.
-
Basic Breaking Moves
We'll go through foundational breaking moves, which can be adapted based on each person’s ability. Tommy will demonstrate each move and offer tips on how to modify them to be easier or more challenging depending on what works best.
-
Creative Combos
Tommy will show how to combine different moves into creative sequences. Participants will have the chance to experiment and create their own combinations, with guidance and support from Tommy.
-
Inclusive Battle Training
Together we will explore the basics of breaking battles in a playful and inclusive way, focusing on self-expression rather than competition. We’ll encourage one another and celebrate each participant’s unique contributions.
-
Q&A and Personalised Feedback (optional)
Toward the end of the workshop, Tommy will open the floor for questions. Participants can ask about anything, from technique to inspiration and self-confidence. He’ll also offer personalised feedback to those who want it.
-
Cool Down and Stretching
The session will conclude with a cool-down and stretching to help the muscles recover after the fun and active dancing. We will also take a moment to watch clips of other inspiring breakers with disabilities.
No excuses. No limits. Trust the process!
