Our Projects

At FUNKTIONARTS, we are proud to collaborate with a diverse range of partners to support children and adults with disabilities. Through our projects, we aim to create inclusive and creative environments, promote empowerment, and provide essential resources to enhance the quality of life for those we work with.

Our coming projects are carried out over a duration of 1 to 2 years, depending on their scope and objectives, and can take place locally, regionally, or nationally across Sweden.

FUNKTIONARTS is also actively aiming to expand its reach by creating international projects, with a particular focus on Spain and other parts of Europe, fostering cross-border collaborations and artistic initiatives.

DIGIFUNK is an ongoing project and pilot study where we explore dance, music, and VR within an artistic and pedagogical context. Our aim after the study is to develop an interactive digital platform, where users—primarily children—can actively engage in artistic activities, both at home with their families, and in schools with their friends, and teachers.

DIGIFUNK is being conducted at two schools in Stockholm: Innovitaskolan Joriel and Hästhagsskolan. The pilot study is funded by the Kulturbryggan program of the Swedish Arts Council (Konstnärsnämnden).

TILLSAMMANS

TILLSAMMANS as an upcoming coming project for 2025 includes both a dance performance by and with UnikDans, a dance ensemble featuring dancers both with and without disabilities, and a workshop. The performance offers a unique and touching experience, aimed at breaking the norm that special groups are needed for different abilities.

After the performance, Alva, Karin, and Klaudia will lead the dance workshop. The main purpose is to meet and discover new ways into dance and movement, with a focus on collaborative creation. During the workshop, we will explore different ways of dancing together, using contemporary and improvisational dance as a foundation.

This upcoming project seeks to engage teenagers and young adults with disabilities in Sweden who face social exclusion. Through interactive workshops focused on hip-hop's four elements, virtual reality, and collaborative learning, we aim to empower these youths by building their confidence, amplifying their voices, fostering creativity, and creating a sense of belonging.
