About Ida

Ida has a background as a dancer and holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Dance Performance awarded at Stockholm University of the Arts in 2017, and a Bachelor's Degree of Arts with an Intercultural Profile in Primary Education - Extended School awarded at Södertörn University in 2025. She is Co-Founder of FUNKTIONARTS, and member of its Board on the board. 

 

From autumn 2025, she is pursuing a Master’s programme in Child and Youth Studies with a focus on school-age educare at Stockholm University.

 

Since 2012, Ida has worked with children with disabilities in various contexts. Among other initiatives, she created the interactive dance artwork LEK SAK (2018) and participated in the establishment an adapted compulsory school in the City of Stockholm, where she was responsible for the school-age educare centre from 2020 to 2025.

Ida is interested in the everyday arenas of children and young people, their access to culture and community life, and other factors that contributes to enhancing the quality of life. Her ongoing interest in school-age educare centres for pupils with intellectual disabilities  – as both part of the educational system and a meaningful space for children and young people with disabilities – is further explored through an interdisciplinary lens in her Master's studies.

Within FUNKTIONARTS, Ida provides pedagogical and didactic support to the team working with FUNKTIONARTS' target group, drawing on her experience and interdisciplinary expertise.

 

Ida speaks Finnish, Swedish, and English, and has basic knowledge of TAKK (Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication).
